Swiss stock markets clearly up

The stock market year 2024 ended positively.

Swiss stock markets gained: The blue-chip barometer Swiss Market Index (SMI) stood at 11,600 points at the end of December. This amounted to an annual increase of 4.2%.

The broad Swiss Performance Index (SPI) rose to 15,472 points, up 6.2% from its 2023 close. 

 

Interroll share price down

Despite a difficult year, with macro-economic headwinds, Interroll delivered a solid performance in the financial year 2024.

With a closing price of CHF 1,994.00 on December 30, 2024, the Interroll share price was 25.3% lower than the year-end price in 2023 (CHF 2,670.00).

The Interroll share price therefore significantly underperformed compared to the Swiss indices. The Group’s market capitalization exceeded CHF 1.6 billion.

 

The free float increases slightly

Approximately 10.7% of Interroll’s shares (December 31, 2023: 13.0%) are held by the remaining founding families. The members of the Group Executive Committee and their relatives control a total of 0.15% (2023: 0.15%) of the shares as of December 31, 2024.

The free float as defined by the SIX Swiss Exchange was approximately 92% as of December 31, 2024 (2023: 87%).

The shareholder base remains international

In 2024, shareholders domiciled in Switzerland acquired a disproportionately high number of Interroll shares. As of December 31, 2024, 71% of the registered shareholders resided in Switzerland, compared to 61% as of December 31, 2023. At the same time, the dispo stock (the non-registered shareholders) increased to 33% (2023: 27%)
